When I was in Year 10, there was a charity event for Children in Need. Our school got together with the neighbouring girl’s school. David and his fellow wannabes performed the world’s worst cover of There’s No Other Way, which, with hindsight, was quite an ironic choice. When they finished, I was shaping-up to shout abuse when I noticed that all the girls were clapping wildly and calling for more. It was at this moment that I decided to start a band of my own.

Of course, with him and his smug mates murdering Blur and assaulting Pulp, there was only one road for me to take.

Now, Liam and I may come from slightly different backgrounds, and I may be scared of the North, but Children in Need 1995 brought us together in a relationship that has brought me a lot of happiness.
Epiphany

By the time I started  Secondary School, my friends and I had a copy of Pills, Thrills and Bellyaches. David on the other hand had a poster of Boyz II Men on his wall (though he denies this). Fortunately, he was saved by Brit Pop, and, within hours of the phrase being coined, he had become Damon Albarn and he started a band called Dusk.
